Bon x Reader (Blue Exorcist fanfiction)

You attended the True Cross Academy as one of the top students. You weren’t too rich or nothing, but a scholarship had landed you in a place that you could go. You lived a pretty normal life, and were planning on continuing that way, but when Mephesto offered that you should go to Cram school which was another schooling program they had at the academy, you didn’t decline. He explained everything to you and you almost didn't believe it all, in all honesty you wanted to do something more with your life than just get a high paying job. Your family always struggled with money, and you wanted to help out as much as you could. That was your biggest goal that you always lived by.


The first day of cram school had you all tied up in knots. Mephesto directed you to the class room and left you to open the door all on your own, when you did, there was only a few students there. Two girls and four boys. One girl had short blond hair and rosy cheeks, the other one had long purple hair that came into pig tails. There was a short bald boy, a pink-haired one, a black-blued haired one that seemed to be carrying a sword, and one who had brown hair with a dyed blond streak in the middle who had piercings. All of their heads turned to look who just entered the classroom, this made you feel uneasy and you just slowly made your way to one of the desks in the middle of the room and sat down quietly waiting for the teacher to walk in and start the class.


The teacher came into the classroom and smiled genuinely. You had met him before, his name was Yukio Okumura. He set his things down on the desk and started to speak about the lesson you all would be doing today. His hand lifted to his face and pushed up his glasses as he mentioned that a new student had join this class. He pointed you out and introduced you to the small class. Now that the attention was on you, you just smiled nervously and gave a light wave. “Hello.” You said in a strong confident tone but you felt unsettled.


Soon after the lesson was over, everyone got their stuff and started to leave the classroom. You were the first one out, ready to just go back to your dorm and start on your homework that you were assigned today. A hand was laid on your shoulder and you looked up to see the pink haired boy. He smiled and said, “Hey ____! I’m Shima, these are my friends. This is Bon and Konekomaru.” Shima said as he guided you along to the two other boys. You put on a smile again and greeted them. For a moment, you looked Bon straight in the eyes and didn’t look away. A small flush of red lightly appeared onto his cheeks, as he broke the gaze. No one else noticed this and you quickly dropped your gaze too. The rest of the students gathered around as well.


“I’m Rin!” The black-blueish haired boy came in to introduce himself as well. So did the blond girl, her name was Shemi. Eventually Izumo did too, but she was very enthusiastic about it. Shima invited you to hang out with them today, but you passed saying that you were quite busy with many other things but maybe another day would be better.

You laid on your bed in your dorm, taking in deep breaths as you wondered why the class had been so friendly to you. And Bon. He was cute, you couldn’t deny it. Since this was your first day you wouldn’t allow yourself to fall so easily. You were lucky enough to have your own room and didn't share with another roommate, so you could do whatever you want. It was nice though, you weren’t one to reach out to others and ‘hi’ first. You rolled over and were relieved that you finished all of your work for today and you were excited for tomorrow. That night you slept peacefully.


~ A few weeks later ~


You’ve gotten use to the school and everything, you keep up pretty well in each of your classes and you do hang out with everyone in the cram school eventually. You’re enjoying it alot, actually. But you catch Bon stealing gazes at you and Shima smirking smugly. Although you haven’t picked that up yet.


The school day breezed by and it was lunch already. You pulled out some money and got a sandwich. You didn’t know where to sit, and there were a lot of places. You wanted to wander around a bit, and then you ended up at the fountain. You sit down and decided here would be a nice spot to enjoy your lunch. You start to daydream to yourself, and you don’t even notice that Surguro was hovering above you. At first you jump a little and stutter, “B-bon.”


“Hey.” He replied, but obviously he was acting strange. You just swallow the remaining food in your mouth and try to say something.


“What’s up? Where’s Shima and Konekomaru?” You ask looking around you in different places.


“They’re just eating lunch somewhere else with Rin and Yukio.” He takes a seat next you, his hands are still in his pockets and that blush you remember from earlier has returned. He’s looking at the ground though while you look at him.


“How come you aren’t with them then?” You say aloud.


He craned his neck and his hand rub the back of his head. “Rin just pisses me off too much. I left because I needed to get away from him.”


You nod, understanding him. In class you've seen how they act with each other. You picked up that they don’t get along too well together. “That’s okay.” This catches his attention to look at you. “Sometimes you need cool off and walk away from situations that heat you up like that.” You pause, “So it’s okay.” You finished with a smile. This seems to have surprised him and you don’t know why.


“Yeah . . . yeah I guess you’re right.” He smiles a little himself, and that makes you feel better. “_____, I wanted to ask you. . . “ He trailed off, Bon was getting all huffy and you couldn’t even imagine why. What was he going to ask you?


“Would you wanna go on a date with me?” Bon stared directly into your eyes and you blushed instantly. Well, both of your faces are red as hell and you just stared at each other. You scooted a little closer and basically pounced on him, giving him a hug. All those glances you caught from him finally made sense to you. You couldn’t help but return the feelings, you were always open to anything romantic, especially to cute guys like Bon.


“Yes of course!” You finally said. Then you planted a small kiss on his lips. He almost fell back, but he gained his balance and slowly hugged you back. Having his arms around you and muttering into your hair how glad he was about this.


~ The following week ~


You and Bon had a lot of work to cover for the remaining week. So you couldn’t go out on your date until the weekend popped up. He picked you up around six o’clock and took you out on a nice dinner in a small restaurant. After that you both took a walk to the local park and watched the sunset from a good view. You had a great time with Bon, who knew you two would get along so well together? Bon was interesting, and you both had conversations that lead from one thing to the next. It seemed like you two were good together, or so Bon had said.


It was getting late after the sun went down. Bon took you to get some ice cream, you two had a discussion of the importance of sprinkles and ended up dabbing some of your ice cream on his nose. He laughed and did the same to you. Later on he walked you back to your dorm. You both said goodbye and Bon leaned down, but not enough since you had to go on your tippy toes for a moment to connect your lips. It was a sweet kiss, it was kind and nice.


Once you were back into your room, you flopped onto your bed and smiled into your pillow. You hopped that Bon and you would become official later on. This was the beginning of something new for you, something you really wanted without knowing it.
